    Jerry as he is known to his friends and colleagues is a truly exceptional human being – after completing his PhD in physiological psychology at the University of Rochester, NY, he spent two years at the National Institute of Health and was subsequently appointed research psychologist at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Los Angeles.

    He was soon promoted and his subsequent appointments included Assistant. Professor of Psychiatry, UCLA and Director, Cellular Neurophysiology Program, Center for Narcolepsy and Related Disorders, Stanford University. Jerry Siegel holds the following positions:

    Jerry is on the editorial boards of a variety of high impact scientific journals, has received a multitude of awards including the Distinguished Scientist Award, for significant, original and sustained contributions to advances in the field of sleep research, Sleep Research Society, Seattle Washington, 2002.

    Jerry has been awarded research grants in excess of $10 million and has authored more than 500 original articles in the fields of psychology, neurobiology, psychiatry and sleep disorders.
